A New Age

Posted by Houston's Finest on November 4, 2012 at 12:30 AM

It's kind of hard to follow a scoring night as good as the one James Harden had against Detroit. That is unless you're James Harden who not only met expectations Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, but EXCEEDED them against the Atlanta Hawks. Harden went for a Career High 45 points in Friday night's victory over the Hawks. Twitter was buzzing once again as the 23 year old gave Deshawn Stevenson the blues all night long. Harden shot 14-19 from the field and also had another Career High 17 free throw attempts (He made 15 of them). However the night solely did not belong to Harden as he got some solid help from his teammates.

Jeremy Lin also came to play in Friday night's victory over the Hawks. Lin scored 21 points, added with a Career High 10 boards and also finished with 7 assist. Early in the game Lin went to the freethrow line and chants from the Atlanta fans of "Overrated" were thrown at Lin. The chants quickly were silenced Lin made the Atlanta Fans put their foot in their mouths immediately. At times i don't know what to think of Lin he sometimes plays like an accident waiting to happen, not to mention Jeff Teague gave him fits all night. Lin never gives up though and that's one thing i respect about him he knows he's not the quickest, fastest or strongest but he continues to play hard and with a Stat line like the one he had last night i hope he continues to shut me up.

FINALLY! MARCUS MORRIS CAME TO HOOP! The 2nd year man had a Great night to his standards. 17 Points, 5 rebounds (2 offensive & 3 defensive) and a Late critical 3 in the corner to put the Rockets on top of the Hawks in the 4th quarter. A lot of Rockets fans have been critical of Morris ever since his rookie season when he struggled to even see the floor, but his play in the Preseason followed by Patrick Patterson's injury the light has been green for Morris to shine. Honestly i would like to see more of Morris than Patterson. He's quicker more, has a more consistent jumper and he plays pretty solid defense, but that's probably why I'm not Kevin Mchale he knows the team way better than i do sitting down at home watching the game. Last night though you have to admit as a Rockets fan that you were excited to see Morris finally get on the court and produce he showed FLASHES of Greatness. The Power Forward is a deep position this year for the Rockets and NOBODY has room for error or a bad game.

And Finally we have Omer Asik. 0 points WOW what a bust right, "WHAT WAS MOREY (expletive) THINKING RIGHT" WRONG! Asik had a career high of his own last night 19 REBOUNDS. He killed the Hawks on the glass every dumb shot the Hawks took in critical possessions Asik was on the glass like a mad man. 9 offensive rebounds & 10 defensive rebounds a VERY solid night, or as Daryl Morey (Rockets GM) would say, "THAT'S WHY WE (EXPLETIVE) GOT HIM" He has qucikly turned into one of my favorite players to watch simply because the way he plays is so hard knows. He doesn't flop he just goes out there and plays to the best of his ability and as a Fan you can't ask for much more then that.

This team will have a lot of ups and downs this season I know that for sure, but nothing can be as bad as the previous 2 seasons that we had before. Missing the playoffs to straight season by a GAME! A New Age is defintely in full affect in Houston Texas and i can slowly hear the bandwagoners of Houston slowly hopping off of the #TeamLakers & #TeamHeat badwagon and Joining #RedNation. I think i speak for all Die Hard fans when i say stay your Bandwagon ass over there. WE DON'T WANT YOU BRO!
