The Josh Hamilton Sweepstakes are officially over. The 31-year old juggernaut hitter has signed a five-year, $125-million contract to the Los Angeles Angels. While Hamilton is coming off of an inconsistent season with the Texas Rangers last season that included vision issues, the power of his swing can not be discounted.
Josh hit 43 home runs and 128 RBI batting .285 last season. He posted forty hits with runners in scoring position, and his presence in the middle of the Angels' already-stacked lineup that includes Mike Trout and Albert Pujols and other great hitters will make the Angels one of the top hitting teams in the league.
In my opinion, I think that Hamilton improves any team dramatically, but there are some question that need to be answered about his consistency after a shaky ending to the 2012 season.
