Two days after the passing of one of the greatest sports owners of all time, the Lakers showcased a winning attitude that rivaled that of the late Jerry Buss. The Lakers defeated their arch rival Boston Celtics 113-99. It was the first game that the team played after the passing of Dr. Buss. Kobe Bryant had 24 points along with 12 rebounds. Steve Nash had 14 points and 7 assists. Nash only needed 5 assists to surpass Magic Johnson into fourth place for most assists in NBA history. The key player of the game was Dwight Howard who had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Kobe Bryant only had 16 points along with 7 assists. Howard had the type of performance that Laker fans expected him to have as soon as he became a Laker. With Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill out Howard will need to continue playing the way that he did on wednesday night. The win now gives the Lakers a dismal 26-29 record. The next game will be on Friday when the Lakers play the Portland Trailblazers at Staples Center.
